Stadium Honored

Lovecraft Stadium
(Mistakatonic University Press) - H.P. Lovecraft Stadium, home of the APFL's Arkham Grave Robbers, will celebrate the team's fiftieth season at the site this Saturday. The arches will be opened at 11:00 PM, and the ceremony is expected to last several hours.

"It's really something, isn't it?" asked Arkham GM Neal F. Guye. "Fifty years in the same stadium. The Great Old Ones have really smiled on us. I just hope all our fans will enjoy what we have in store for them. I don't want to give away too much, but I've heard rumors that the AMI will be there."

The "AMI" is the Arkham Malevolent Intelligence, a key entity in the Grave Robbers' management. "It's really worked up an appetite from getting ready for the draft," said Guye. "We're asking the fans to drink plenty of alcohol, both during and before the ceremony. It really makes them a lot more palatable."

Local authorities expressed concerns about the ceremony. "I don't like much of what goes on around here," said Arkham police chief Andrew Griffith. "This ceremony is just more trouble. I guarantee we'll be missing some folks come Sunday morning. Nope, I don't like it one bit. And I'm sure there will be plenty of folks down from Innsmouth, too. I don't like them either, with their wierd mumbling and their bad smell. I know one thing, and that's for sure: Folks who know best will be out of town on Saturday night."

Arkham kicker Trent Henley, who grew up a few miles away in Innsmouth, said, "It's just a celebration for the fans. We all get together, do some things, and that's it. The stadium has been here as long as anyone can remember, even the Indians. I can't see much harm in having a little ceremony there."
