White Becomes a Grave Robber

(Mistakatonic University Press) - Just a day before the college draft, Arkham Grave Robbers' GM Neal F. Guye dealt Jeff Tomonson and a third-round pick to the Duluth Moose. In exchange, Arkham received Duluth's seventh-round pick, and Deon White.

White is a four-year standout on the offensive line, but concerns about his age and foot speed may have led to the trade.

"I'm only 27 years old," said White, "and they don't pay me to lead sweeps. I was anchoring the line in Duluth. Now I'm anchoring it in Arkham. The APFL can be funny sometimes, but it's a business. You can't look back. I'm looking forward to playing on a line with some other big guys."

Coach Guye said, "It was one of those last-minute deals. [Duluth GM Phil] Szatch wanted to move up in the draft, and we wanted to get out of the mad scramble for offensive lineman. We'll miss Jeff Tomonson. Although he never made a big name for himself here, we feel he can do great things up north. Hopefully they can get him into the weight room up there."

"As for Deon, we are very, very happy to have him in the middle of our line. Hair [Harold Carter] is pretty happy, too. He likes the idea of passing behind Deon. We've already taken him down to [Arkham practice facility] Innsmouth Field, and he pushed a couple of grave stones over. He's our kind of player."
