Week 4: Seoul Asylum

(Mistakatonic University Press) - The game continues.

Working in the shadow of Tuesday's horror, preparing for Sunday's game against the Seoul Choson has been tough for Arkham coach Neal F. Guye. Recent conflicts with coach/Commissioner George E. Nebesnik were laid aside as the league cancelled a week of play. But the game continues.

"We've resolved to play the game of our lives," said Guye. "We feel it's the best way a sports team can honor the victims and demonstrate resolve against the enemy. The league office may suspect us of 'mistakes' in our playbook again, but our plan is to play the perfect game of football. It's really all we can offer as a franchise. We can't let cowards, murderers, and liars steal our freedom through fear. It would dishonor to the victims."

Seoul's defense has proved extremely strong, demonstrating Coach Dave Zordan's superb play-calling with less-than-superb personnel. "He'll beat anyone who doesn't take him seriously," said Guye. "Coach Z is possibly the finest coach in the league. He does more, with less, than anyone else in the APFL. We're sure he'll have the Choson in a frenzy for this week's game. Hopefully, seeing two teams playing so well will inspire fans and Americans."

"The Seoul offense is great, too. They'll hit you long, short, in the middle, around the end, screens, whatever. There's no defense that can handle all the angles. You just hope you guessed right when they get ready to move the ball. Their slants are brutal. It's no secret that we wanted Sam Buck on our roster. He's a whole game's worth of problems all by himself."

The advantage is to Arkham. There's no accounting for Coach Z, however. He can make all the difference. Look for a low-scoring chess match.
