Week 10: Seoul Survivor
(Mistakatonic University Press) - It all comes down to this: A one-game playoff to determine who makes the playoffs. Facing the only American Conference team to defeat them this season, and with Jay Shines out, the Arkham Grave Robbers must find a way to defeat the Seoul Choson. We asked Coach Guye if he could win without Shines: Can you win without Shines? "Jay means a lot to this club, I don't want any mistakes about that. We've moved away from the tremendous load he carried last season, but we still consider him the top option when the game is on the line. Having said that, we are very happy with the work we've gotten from Robert Vogel this season. Expanding his role has opened up our offense, and given our rookies and newcomers a chance to share in our success." What about Seoul's defense? Can you crack it? "Yes. If we use our common sense and our best roster, we can move the ball. I won't say it will be easy, they have the best defense in the league. Our target will be 28 points. Anything beyond that will be a bonus." You didn't come close to that in the first game. "Whose side are you on? I made the worst coaching decision of my career, and it showed in the final score. We've been subject to three blowouts this season. Guess how many games we've lost?" Three? "That's right. When we lose, we lose big. We can't let that happen this week. Our team, starting with the pre-season, has showed an incredible ability to come back and win the close games. We'll need that ability on Saturday." Ricky West has been hot since mid-season. "Yes, Seoul has been very strong. I can't hope to become Coach Z, I only try to learn from him. We made a very attractive offer to bring him over as the defensive coach of the Grave Robbers. It included eternal life." Eternal life!
"Well, not life, exactly. You'd have to ask Jeb and the AMI about the details."
Here are the matchups for Week 10:
Even without Shines, Arkham looks stronger. Coach Z is probably the deciding factor. A good game plan, and his miserly defense, can turn the tide for Seoul.
