T E X A S O U T L A W S #12-Texas-WR-Shannon Shepard This just has to be overkill. Shepard was a very coveted player, and brilliant_dude is already painting him as trade bait. With Holmes and Cramer on the field, how much time can Shepard get? He brings the Agility the other stars lack, but at the expense of Strength. #24-Texas-KK-Sidney Evans IMPACT says that Sydney was the sixth-best player in the draft. It's hard to argue with a 60-yard field goal. The AMIR say he was picked right on schedule. Whatever the case, this is a great example of filling in a big hole in a superb roster. #31-Texas-TE-Sean Kay AMIR says he went two rounds late, IMPACT says a round early. Whatever the case, Texas gave up Dwight Kennedy to get him. That was a great move. Again, _dude fills a a big hole with this deal and pick. That's how the draft is supposed to work. #44-Texas-OL-Monte Nebbs Nebs is a great fit for the Texas OL. This selection is at least a round early, though. Still, you'll see Nebs leading Texas sweeps for a long time. #45-Texas-DL-Leonard Matthews Texas has a nice mix of speed rushers and hulking pylons on the DL. Matthews is not a great fit for either role. Garin Mersereau or Tad Millnichik would have helped Texas more. #48-Texas-HB-Don Jackson Nice patience in waiting for Don. The eyes of Texas were upon Don for some time. This pick must have been sweet for them. #72-Texas-LB-Marcus Bull Another player that _dude identified early as a great late pick. He's fairly weak and has poor skills, but Texas can use guys like that to ruin your day. #84-Texas-CB-Frankie Caito Mr. Irrelevant. I would have taken Eli WIlliams, a nice change of pace on passing downs. OVERALL: Texas filled some holes with this draft, nicely. It's hard to find a real weakness in their roster. They might be weak in man- to-man, but how much man-to-man do they play? This was a nicely orchestrated draft by brilliant_dude. It's not easy to do so well when you pick last. GRADE: A
