P U L L M A N C O U G A R S #10-Pullman-SS-Darryl Miller This was a great pick, the perfect example of a very good team filling a need. #22-Pullman-HB-Homer Thomas This was not such a good pick. Can you imagine me trading Todd Otey for a #22 pick? Josh Centers or Darnell Austin can do the gut running. Probably the second-worst pick of the draft, 2 or 3 rounds early. #34-Pullman-SS-Donnell Sims Another nice pick. Sims has his faults but the Cougars can feel good about their safeties for a long time. #46-Pullman-OL-Dave Furrer I can't see much good about Furrer. He runs very fast, gets to the point of attack, and then gets steamrolled by a cornerback. Look for him on the waiver wire. #58-Pullman-OL-Igor Spitulski A great pick, very good as a backup. #70-Pullman-TE-Vance Clark Another player without an obvious role. He's slower than a Speed 25 wideout, and fairly weak as a blocker. The 10-player list may be kind to him, however. #82-Pullman-LB-Mike Kaufman This guy sucks. He's too slow to use his great skills, and too weak to stop the run. Still, at #82, who can you take on a roster as good as this one? OVERALL: The Cougars were already a very good team. Now they are a very good team with a very good set of safties, and a backup offensive lineman. That's not a great draft, but they did address one need without leaving any gaping holes. If they hadn't taken Homer so early, they would rate a solid B. Doh! GRADE: C
